A: Yes. Jobs in student media are available for students without regard to major. A background in journalism is not required to write for Legacy, as the type of writing found in the magazine is often referred to as "literary journalism" and is not subject to the strict guidelines of newspaper style

A: All paid student media employees are required to be full-time students at the University and must be in good standing, with a 2.0 minimum grade point average. Applicants' age and classification are not taken into consideration.

A: Staff writers are paid by the piece. Depending on the length and complexity of the article, writers may earn anywhere from 30 to 75 dollars per piece.

Q: What kinds of writing samples do I need to turn in with my application?
A: Two different samples of your writing are recommended to turn in with your application: one that demonstrates your original, creative voice, such as a short story, personal essay, creative nonfiction or opinion piece.
