Pitcher Perfect

Nov 8th, 2009 | By Maggie Bowles | Category: Photo Essay

photoessayThe LSU baseball team enters the 2010 season as the defending national champion. One reason: strong pitching. LSU ended the 2009 season with the ninth-ranked team ERA (4.01) in Division I College Baseball. With the departure of the team’s No. 1 pitcher, Louis Coleman, junior Anthony Ranaudo has to step up this upcoming season as the squad’s ace.

Ranaudo moved from reliever to starter at the start of the 2009 season and flourished in his new role. Ranaudo finished last season with a team-high 159 strikeouts. He also finished with a 12-3 record and a 3.04 ERA.
